Refurbishment and Multiple Extensions to Split Level House
This project involved the Extension and Refurbishment of a split-level house in Bo'ness.
A new Dining/Garden Room was added with five-part bi-fold doors to open out fully onto the patio outside, allowing full connectivity between the existing house and the garden. The existing Garage was converted into a Play Room with mezzanine, a new partially subterranean Garage was built into the contours of the site, and a new glazed stair-tower extension affords panoramic views across the Firth of Forth to the hills of Fife beyond.
Areas of high quality bespoke detailing include open-tread oak staircases, sandstone paving, timber decking and Siberian Larch cladding.
A new sustainable heating system was installed throughout the house, featuring underfloor heating running from a NIBE ground-source heat pump which uses deep-bore heat collectors.
Windows and doors were upgraded with new triple-glazing, and new insulation was introduced to the walls, floors and roof of the existing building to maximise the building's eco-friendly credentials.
